With over a month to Afghanistan's Presidential and Provincial Council Elections, political activists gathered at the National Agenda Conference to talk about political power-sharing and national solidarity.

No candidate can govern alone; political power-sharing is essential to reinforce national solidarity, Architect of National Agenda Program Ahmad Waly Masood said at the conference.

"What do we want from the upcoming elections, only wining and losing?" Masood asked. "Do we want to practice a game of death again or do we really want to use the election as an opportunity to save Afghanistan from the current crisis?" he added.

"11 presidential candidates should agree on creation of a power-sharing after the elections. The practical method would be for each candidate to propose a priority, and other candidates can either approve it or complete it," Director of Institute for Peace and Women Khalil Roman said.

The participants of the conference asked the presidential candidates to have specific plans for tackling the current challenges. They also emphasized the significance of transparent elections.
