Afghanistan's presidential candidates vying to succeed Hamid Karzai in an April election lack specific plans to strengthen the human rights situation in the country, the Afghanistan Human Rights and Democracy Organization (AHRDO) said on Sunday.

At the opening ceremony of a two day exhibition, the human rights and democracy organization said that despite achievements in human rights, the candidates do not have specific plans to respond to the demands of war affected families.

"A specific strategy has not yet presented on strengthening human rights and to respond to the basic demands of war victims. And also, the issues of reaching peace and violations remain vague," said the head of AHRDO, Khodadad Basharat.

Meanwhile, the head of Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) Seema Samar asked for implementation of transitional justice in Afghanistan.

"in these conditions, the candidate who win is the heir of governments that committed crimes. And the future government should implement justice," Samar said.

The human rights and democracy organization held the exhibition under name of Memories of War and Peace in the Kabul National Archive.

Individuals affected by war displayed pictures of their relatives. The families asked the incoming government to punish the murderers of innocent people.

"We have lost several members of our family. We request that murderers face punishments," said Begom, a war survivor.

"Unfortunately, the government did not pay attention to demands of war affected families and we urge next government to take our demands serious," Maasoma Tawasoli said.

The war effected families asked the next government to make specific plans for the families and also said that civilian casualties should be prevented across the country.
