Two civilians were killed and eight others were injured in twin blasts in eastern Nangarhar province early Sunday, local officials said.
The first blast took place in Achin district of the province, when a civilian vehicle following a newly married couple struck a roadside bomb, killing one and injuring six others, said Ahmad Zia Abdulzai, a spokesman for the provincial governor.
"The second blast took place few minutes after, when people were trying to carrying the victims to the hospital, killing one and injuring two others," he said.
The married couple was not hurt in the blast.
No group including the Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.

The United Nations has attributed over 70 percent of all civilian casualties in Afghanistan to Taliban attacks.
