Three Afghan National Army (ANA) personnel and a woman were killed in a suicide attack in 3rdstreet of Kart-e-Naw area of Kabul early on Sunday, local officials said. Twenty two other including civilian were injured in the attack.
The incident took place about 07:00 AM, when a suicide bomber walking in the area detonated his explosive near an ANA vehicle, said Mohammad Zahir Zahir, the Kabul Police Chief.
He said that most of the victims were the ANA personnel and were taken to a nearby hospital in the city.
The police security forces have arrived in the area and blocked the road to traffic.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.
It comes as, on Saturday night two civilians were injured in a bomb blast in Khair Khana area of Kabul.
The incident happened after a roadside bomb went-off in the area.
Recently, the Taliban insurgents have become more active, targeting the Afghan police forces, NATO and governmental areas.
On Friday, the Deputy Commanding Gen. of the United State forces in Afghanistan, Mark Milley has warned that the violence will increase in the country.
His comment comes after, last week the Taliban launched a suicide attack on La Taverna du Liban in the Wazir Akbar Khan neighborhood of Kabul that left 21 dead, including 13 foreign civilians. The attack made headlines around the world as one of the deadliest attacks on foreign nationals in Afghanistan since the war began in 2001.
