Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Sunday that it welcomes an initiative from UNAMA to hold a meeting among representatives of the Taliban, Hizb-e-Islami and opposition groups in Turkmenistan.
Spokesman of Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the ministry has received from the UN political representative the meeting plan.
"The government knows UNAMA's plan and welcomes the consulting sessions that include representatives of the concerned sides," said Janan Moosazai, spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The exact location for the Turkmenistan meeting is not stated yet, but it is likely that the meeting would be held in the Turkmen capital of Ashgabat in two months.
The Turkmenistan meeting is coming in the wake of the Paris talks, which brought together representatives from the Taliban, major political parties, the High Peace Council and civil society.
