A Taliban leader was captured in a joint Afghan-Nato raid in southern Helmand province on Sunday, Isaf said.
"An Afghan and coalition security force arrested a local Taliban leader during an operation in Nad-e-Ali district, Helmand province today," Isaf said in a statement.
The leader was in direct contact with "senior members of the Taliban in the province and coordinated and conducted numerous direct fires and improvised explosive device attacks against Afghan and coalition forces," according to the Isaf statement.
It said that another Taliban leader in the province who planned and executed improvised explosive device attacks against Afghan and coalition forces was captured in Khanabad district of northern Kunduz.
The statement also added that the Afghan and coalition officials confirmed today that a Taliban leader was arrested during a security operation in Tarnek wa Jaldak district of Zabul province Friday.
The leader transported and delivered weapons and ammunition to other Taliban insurgents in Tarnek wa Jaldak and Qalat districts.
Also today, a Haqqani Network leader was captured in Pul-e-Alam district of Logar province. He helped launch attacks against the government.
The troops also confirmed that a local Haqqani leader and one suspected insurgent were captured during an operation in Khost district of eastern Khost province Sunday.
The leader planned, facilitated and executed attacks against Afghan and coalition forces in Pul-e-Alam district, Logar province.
He also directed the movement of Haqqani fighters and emplaced improvised explosive devices.
