The Taliban could fully take control of all districts of Nuristan province unless the government pays attention, the Nuristan People's Association said Thursday.
The Association also called on the government to prevent cross-border Pakistani shelling which, together with Taliban's heavy presence in the province, could cause the provincial government to "collapse."
"Pakistan's missile attacks continue daily...the districts will fall [to the insurgents] if the problems are not solved," said Sulaiman Sanara Nuristani, the Association's press secretary.
"We have no participation in government. We have remained completely isolated from the regime for the last decade, so the people are disappointed with the system," Association head Mohammad Arif Nuristani said.
The Association also raised concerns about air strikes and civilian deaths in the province.
