Three Taliban and a Haqqani "facilitator" have been captured in joint Afghan and Nato troops operations, Isaf said Monday.
A Taliban leader was captured Monday in the Baghlan-e-Jadid district of northern Baghlan province , Isaf said in its operations update.
"The leader was an improvised explosive device expert (IED) who constructed IEDs for insurgents operating in the province. He transferred and distributed acquired components for IEDs to insurgents," it said.
On suspected insurgent was also captured during the raid.
A second local Taliban leader was captured Monday in Kandahar district of southern Kandahar province today, responsible for the facilitation and construction of IEDs and attacks against Afghan and coalition forces, according to Isaf.
The security forces also detained two suspected insurgents and seized nearly US$3,000 during the operation.
A third Taliban leader, who was responsible for equipped insurgents with weapons and supplies, was arrested in the Nad-e Ali district of southern Helmand province, Isaf said.
While the Haqqani facilitator, who funded multiple insurgents in the district and coordinated the purchase and transfer of weapons, was captured Monday in Pul-e 'Alam district of eastern Logar province, according to Isaf.
No further details of the operations or the names of those captured were provided in the Isaf statement.
