With only a few days to the start of Presidential campaigns, officials in Kandahar spoke of preparations for security of Presidential and Provincial Council candidates during their campaign in Kandahar province.
Kandahar Police Chief reported on preparations for security of Presidential and provincial council candidates and added that, Presidential and Provincial councils candidates should not have any security concerns in Kandahar.
"If the candidates travel on their own and without informing us, that might actually create some problems. We have asked the specifically to cooperate their work with police and if the officials from their campaign offices are cooperative with us, then everything should be fine" General Abdul Razeq, Kandahar Police Chief
Kandahar Police Chief stated that the security institutions should be aware of the election campaigns methods, as anti government forces in Kandahar are after disruption of process.
"We will take preparations to best of our ability; we will do our best to maintain security. Those candidates who travel to districts and villages for election campaign, we will take our preparations" General Abdul Razeq, Kandahar Police Chief
Kandahar Police Chief stated that in order to better maintain elections security, Police trainees in the center of Kandahar will be sent to districts of Kandahar.
