The Independent Elections Commission (IEC) has opened up the Election Information Center, a call center dedicated to informing the public about the election process. According to the IEC, close to 6,000 Afghans call daily to get information regarding the elections.

"Daily, we receive from 5,500 to 6,000 calls, which adds up to 42,000 in a week and 168,000 in a month," said Ahmadullah Archiwal, the head of the Public Relations for the IEC. "These calls are mainly from Kabul, Herat, Balkh, Ghazni and Helmand."
