The Independent Elections Commission (IEC) has opened up the Election Information Center, a call center dedicated to informing the public about the election process.
According to the IEC, close to 6,000 Afghans call daily to get information regarding the elections.
"Daily, we receive from 5,500 to 6,000 calls, which adds up to 42,000 in a week and 168,000 in a month," said Ahmadullah Archiwal, the head of the Public Relations for the IEC. "These calls are mainly from Kabul, Herat, Balkh, Ghazni and Helmand."
Archiwal said that 60 individuals have been hired to operate the center for now, but more are expected to be brought on as April nears.
"We were heavily trained on the elections, and we can answer any type of question regarding the elections for people," IEC Information Center employee Naweed-u-llah said.
To make a call to the IEC Information Center dial 190. Calls are free of charge and the center is active from 7:00 to 8:00 pm.
