The local officials of Helmand province reported Friday morning that a local journalist has been killed by unknown armed men in the province.
Helmand Governor's Spokesman Mohammad Omar Zawak said that Noor Ahmad Noori was working for local radio station in in Lashkargah city, where he disappeared on Thursday. He added that Noori's body was found at around 8:00 pm in the capital city of Lashkargah.
Security officials have started investigations over the assassination of the journalist, according to the spokesman.
No armed group including the Taliban has claimed responsibility for the incident.
