A number of girl cricketers criticized the Afghan Cricket Board (ACB) on Sunday for not supporting girls compare to boys on the cricket field.

The girl cricketers, members of what they call the Afghanistan Girls Cricket National Team, said that they have playing cricket for four years but havent been provided with transportation, food, and better opportunities for training and overseas matches by the country's cricket board.

The girls believe that they have rights to receive support from ACB as the board supports boy cricketers.

These girls says that such kind of ACB behavior toward girls made them despondent from sport.

"This is my fourth year that I am playing cricket and we didn't receive support yet, the board only provides us the ground for training, what we can do with this dry ground?" Hajira Ramish, a cricket player, told TOLOnews.

"We are not receiving food, there is no transportation for us, we don't have travels and we are not supported like boys, we have the right to be supported like boys and better facilities must be provided for us," Romina Barakzai, a cricket player, told TOLOnews.

Deyana Barakzai, a cricket coach, asked the ACB to pay attention and value girls cricket.

"The cricket board have paid no attention for girls, there is no overseas matches and no training, we want more attentions on girls formation, we want opportunities for our girl cricketers to try raise our country flag as the boys are trying," Deyana told TOLOnews.

The ACB has not recognized a national girls team and says that cricket matches will be held in Kabul to establish a girls national team.

"We have decided to appoint a trainer for them and provide them trainings in Islamic countries. We put more attention to girls rather than boys and about their food I must say that first they are not national team that we should provide them food and second those who are exercising we are not giving them money," Noor Mohammad Murad, C.E.O, of the Afghanistan cricket board told TOLOnews.
