As an active member of Afghan civil society, I was invited to Islamabad to participate in a Afghanistan-Pakistan Media Dialogue as well as a series of meetings with Pakistani journalists, academics, civil society members, politicians and army generals around the topic of the NATO withdrawal from Afghanistan and the impact it would have on Pakistan's security and relations with Afghanistan. This was my first visit to Pakistan in nearly six years, after the Pakistani embassy denied me a visa in 2008 when they were not satisfied with my answer to why I had so many Indian visas in my passport.
