Afghanistan, Ireland and Nepal to enter World T20 championships in Bangladesh next year.
Afghanistan defeated Nepal by seven wickets in the semifinal of the International Cricket Council (ICC) World Twenty Qualifiers on Friday in Abu Dhabi.
Before this, Afghanistan had defeated Scotland, Papua New Gunea and Bermuda. In their first match of the tournament, Afghanistan lost to the Netherlands.
This was the fifth defeat for Nepal against Afghanistan, in the shortest format of cricket.
Afghanistan surpassed the meager target of 91 runs in 14.2 overs, losing three wickets.
Nawroz Mangal, scored the highest 48 runs for Afghanistan. Samiulla Shenwari and Gulabdin Naib remained unbeaten.
Samiullah Shenwari was the best of Afghanistan bowling, claiming three wickets in his four overs, giving away 19 runs. Izatullah Dawlatzai and Dawlat Zardan pocketed two wickets each.
Both Nepal and Afghanistan are already through to the World Cup.
The teams have been divided into two groups, with the top side from each progressing automatically to the World T20 without having to appear in the final of the qualifiers.
Afghanistan is in Group B of the tournament, along with Bermuda, Denmark, the Netherlands, Nepal, Kenya, Papua New Guinea and Scotland.
