U.S. Forces-Afghanistan (USFOR-A) announced on Wednesday that stricter oversight measures were being taken to ensure the Ministry of Defense (MoD) was being held accountable for the fuel procurement practices of the Afghan National Army. USFOR-A are passing over one third of the fuel purchasing responsibilities to the MoD this year, with the transfer of the other two thirds coming in 2014, pending the results of monthly efficiency and accountability evaluations of course.
