The Administrative Delegation of Parliament consisting of Mirwais Yasini, First Deputy Speaker; Salih Mohammad Saljoqi, Second Deputy Speaker; Sayed Ekramuddin, Secretary and Irfanullah Urfani, Vice Secretary warned that in case the Afghan Finance Minister Dr. Hazrat Omar Zakhilwal fails to present any evidence in support of his accusations against the six MPs then it will seek judicial help.

A special Commission has been set up by the Lower House to investigate the charges. The Commission consists of 23 members selected from 23 different provinces. The Commission is headed by Abdul Latif Padram and the Secretary of the Commission is Abdul Satar Khawasi.

The Administrative Delegation of Parliament emphasized that the Commission investigating the matter has been asking the Finance Minister to present evidence, but he has failed to provide any until now.

The Administrative Delegation of Parliament said that putting a travel ban on the MPs is not in the hands of the Attorney General and it is a violation of law.

The Attorney General's office on Monday had put a travel ban on five MPs as they failed to produce themselves at its office.

This order from the Attorney General received negative reactions from the MPs after the Lower House rejected all the allegations against the six MPs. The MPs said that it is a serious violation of the Constitution.

The Parliament said that the Commission is trying to gain access to documents from the Minister of Finance.

Sayed Ekramuddin Secretary of Parliament said, "The Commission has taken into account all accusations and has asked the Finance Minister to present his documents to support the charges raised by him. If the Minister does not present the evidence then the Lower House will seek judicial help."

Meanwhile, a number of lecturers of Law Faculty from various universities also called this act by the Attorney General as baseless and said that only Parliament has the authority to investigate and grant punishments.

Mohammad Tahir Hashimi, Law Lecturer of Kabul University said, "Only Parliament has the authority to investigate the case, ask for evidence and later refer to other organs such as the Judiciary."

Samiullah Samim Member of Parliament said, "The Minister of Finance has accused us and the Attorney General without receiving any evidence, has put a travel ban on us."

The Attorney General besides putting a travel ban on the five MPs had specified a timeline for them to be present at its office and had said that if they do not come they will be suspended from duty.
