The Commission investigating the case of six accused MPs said that all allegations made by the Afghan Finance Minister Hazrat Omar Zakhilwal are baseless.

The Commission officials said that they had asked the Finance Minister to provide evidence for the accusations that he made against the MPs but the Minister failed to provide any.

The Commission added that none of the governmental departments has right to ban the MPs from leaving the country or suspend them from duty on the basis of some baseless accusations.

The development happened after the Afghan Finance Minister accused six MPs of smuggling and raising illegal demands.

The Commission said that it has investigated the accusations in coordination with the Afghanistan Control and Audit Office (CAO) and the Judicial Commission of Parliament.

"Investigations conducted by the Commission shows that the Finance Minister does not have evidence to prove his accusations made against the MPs. The accusation is a political conspiracy and does not have any legal sanctity," Member of Parliament and the Commission Abdul Satar Khawasi said.

Meanwhile, the Lower House Vice-Speaker Mirwais Yasini said that the MPs have immunities and none of the organization/department can decide over the MPs, except the House itself.

"The MPs have immunity. None of the organization can arrest or suspend them except in case of a crime committed by them. Only the Lower House can decide and anyone who attempts to do so is going against the Constitution," Yasini said.

Finally, the Lower House with majority votes approved the report of the Commission and called all the Finance Minister's accusations incorrect and un-Constitutional. The MPs said that it was a political conspiracy against the Afghanistan Parliament.
