Iran and Pakistan are expanding their control in Afghanistan and trying to influence Afghanistan for their own benefits, the Deputy Interior Minister Gen. Abdul Rahman Rahman said on Tuesday.
The Afghan Senate House summoned the Afghan Chief of Army Staff Shir Mohammad Karimi, Deputy Interior Minister and Operational Deputy of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) to question them about the increasing terror attacks and insecurity within the country.
The Deputy Interior Minister said that the Quetta Council has set up a front of 2,000 people to start a war and create challenges in border areas of Afghanistan.
General Rahman believes that intervention from the neighboring countries especially Iran and Pakistan is a big challenge for the country's security.
"Iran and Pakistan want to have their influence in Afghanistan for their benefit. The insecurity situation of the country is alarming because of the internal and external influences. Pakistan supports the Taliban and tries its level best to disturb the peace of Afghanistan," Rahman said.
Meanwhile, the Chief of Army Staff, Shir Mohammad Karimi said that the members of Pakistan's military intelligence agency disguised as Taliban are fighting with the security forces. Pakistan never wants satiability in Afghanistan.
Karimi added that Pakistan aims to make the security situation challenging in Afghanistan by supporting terror groups.
"Pakistan's military intelligence agency interferes in the internal affairs of our country and Pakistan is concerned over Afghanistan's relationship with India. Therefore, the members of the agency are fighting against the Afghan security forces," Shir Mohammad Karimi said.
However, the Afghan Chief of Army Staff assured that the Afghan security forces have chalked out a proper strategy to prevent future terror attacks in the country.
