At least two civilians were killed and 11 others injured in a roadside bomb blast in western Ghor province Friday night, local officials said.
The incident took place in the Do Lina district of the province, when a civilian passenger vehicle fell prey to a roadside bomb, Provincial Spokesman, Abdul Hai Khatibi said.
The vehicle was travelling from Herat province to Chegh Cheran, the capital of Ghor Province, Abdul Hai Khatibi said.
The victims have been taken to a nearby hospital, he said.
Khatibi believes that the bomb had been planted by the Taliban insurgents in the area.
No group including the Taliban has claimed responsibility for the blast.
Insurgents frequently use Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) to target the Afghan and Nato troops, but the civilians fall prey to such attacks.
