Hundreds of lecturers and students of Kabul University on Tuesday shouted slogans demanding that the Dean, Ghulam Farooq Abdullah and the lecturer, Faisal Amin of the Social Science Faculty should not be dismissed.
The demonstration started at 9 am on Tuesday from Kabul University and ended near the Parliament at around 1 pm. The protestors sought a solution for their grievance from the various organs of the country.
The demonstrators were chanting- "We want justice, we want our rights."
The protestors demanded that the Dean and the Professor should not be dismissed from the University.
The demonstrators warned that, "If their demands are not accepted, they will turn to hunger strike and will close the doors of the University.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Higher Education said that on the basis of documents and testimonies it will address the issue.
The Ministry said that lack of a proper Education Law is the cause of the problem.
"The dismissal of the professor and the Dean is not clear but we are trying to give them another post in the University," Abdul Azim Nurbakhsh, Spokesman for the Ministry of Higher Education said.
This development came in at a time when the eight-day hunger strike put up by the students of the Social Science Faculty of Kabul University was called off on Monday.
The students said that the aim of their hunger strike was the dismissal of Faisal Amin, Professor of the Social Science Faculty at Kabul University; Ghulam Farooq Abdullah, Dean and to bring reforms in the education system of the Faculty.
The Tuesday's protestors strongly opposed the hunger strike and said that some specific circles had organised the hunger strike.
