Taliban insurgents have attacked a police checkpoint in eastern Ghazni province Saturday night, killing six police officers, local officials said.
The Taliban attacked the check-point last night in Dayak district of the province with the help of one of the officer's colleague, while they were sleeping and the insurgents' shooting killed them, district governor Sayed Fazl Ahmad Tolwak said.
After the incident, the officer's colleague has escaped from the check-point, Tolwak said.
"A delegation has been sent to the area to investigate further about the attack," he said.
No group including the Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack.
It comes as on Friday the Taliban insurgents attacked a local police checkpoint in Andar, a district of Ghazni province neighbouring Dayak, killing 13 officers, according to officials.
