At least nine including three policemen were injured in a bomb blast in south-east of Paktika province Saturday evening, local officials said.
The incident took place in Angoor Dara area in Shikeen district of the province yesterday, when a bomb went off in a bazaar, provincial spokesman, Mukhlis Afghan, said on Sunday.
The injured were taken to a nearby hospital in the city.
"Five civilians who were in bad condition, were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment," he said.
The police have started investigation about the blast, he added.
No group including the Taliban has claimed responsibility for the blast.
Insurgents frequently use improvised explosive devices to target Afghan and Nato troops in different parts of Afghanistan, but most of the victims are usually civilians.
